Final Word:
Boys this was another fantastic performance by the team. We had 100% commitment to the ball; we were strong when we approached contests. We showed discipline and skills to use the handball and get our running game going. We backed each other and our short passing was pleasing to see all hitting their targets and not kicking and hoping. We need to keep this tempo up for the rest of the season and especially next week at home against West Coast White. We have a home ground advantage so we need to play and train well this week.
Well done everyone on a strong win.

Round 7 vs Northern Cobra’s 13s
Des Penman Reserve 12.6.11
An ordinary game from the boys, one which we will need to put behind us. They started the game committed and they scored well in the first quarter against a strong opposition. Right from the first bounce we won the centre breaks and the forward line pressure and turnover percentages were fantastic. Unfortunately this did not continue for the next 3 quarters and the Cobra’s overrun us in every aspect and position of the game, showing fantastic endeavor, commitment and skills to outscore us and win convincingly.
Most Consistent Players:
Will Atkinson was strong and accountable in defense and on the ball all day, Daniel Wee showed passages of brilliance, and Piers Warburton played consistent throughout the game, Brock Ward tried hard in passages.
Encouragement / improved efforts:
Cameron Quenby and Isaac Dowse won the ruck contests with strength, Fletcher Wolpers moved to the backline and defended strongly without support. Steffen Remvik showed commitment in some hard tussles. Oliver Frey in his first game showed some commitment and good passages of play.
Final Word:
Overall boys not much to say other than this was a poor performance by the team, we are better than what we showed on the day. As a team we had no commitment to the ball; we were scared of the opposition and tentative when we approached contests. We lacked discipline and commitment to stick to our game plan and were basically lazy.
We will be training a lot harder from this week onwards to endeavor to instill into the team commitment, courage and discipline.
Remember – Train hard & play hard.
